It's about a guy named Roy who robs the grave of Mexican serial killer occultist named Blade. He gets double crossed by his partners in crime who kill him, steal the killers ring and flee by plane. The plane crashes and the ring magically falls back on the grave of Roy and the ring brings Roy back to life although he is possessed by Blade.
Blood Nasty is a very rare horror comedy directed by Richard Gabai and Robert Strauss. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about horror films but somehow this movie flew under the radar as I have never heard of it until last night!

Attack Of The Tromaggot is a German Troma fan film directed by Leslie Teah you can watch for free on youtube. It is almost impossible to describe this movie, which I believe makes it truly a modern art masterpiece!! It starts off in some kind of S&M nightmare scenario where a man finds a harmless small maggot and packages it and gives it the mail man. The maggot gets sent to a lab where all kinds of weird shit is going down and the maggot ends up mutating by being exposed to chemicals I guess. Across town a militant covert operation called "Mucus" is in the business of illegally selling slime. Also there is a homosexual chief of police and an idiotic street cop. All of these stories and characters meet and eventually they all get gruesomely killed by the tromaggot. This movie is super slimy and squishy. Tons of blood and all kinds of things that are gross. You would have to have a cast iron stomach not to feel queasy watching this. Actress Alexandra Rothert was lovely though. I believe this film was dubbed by Troma studios but I am not sure about this. The dialogue is pretty hilarious though whoever did the dubbing. There are also cameos by Lloyd Kaufman and Debbie Rochon. Def check this out if you think you can handle it!!! I believe the title of this translates to "Adam And Eve: The First Love Story". I found it while researching Cannibal Holocaust sequels on Youtube. As you can imagine the story of this is a little different then the biblical version. I'm going to go ahead and do spoilers as I am assuming you are not as hardcore as me and don't actually want to watch this movie. If you would rather watch it (it's free) click here.
Cannibal Holocaust is one of the most notorious and possibly ugliest films ever made. It's so extreme the filmmakers were brought to trial in Italy. And all this is great, we want to see films that push the limits of good taste and explore extreme territory, right? However, I am finding the older I get the less I want to be offended. I recently watched Cannibal Holocaust 2 on Youtube (click here) and found that while it was much more lighthearted than the original I actually enjoyed it more. Here are five reasons I feel Cannibal Holocaust is a better film than Part 1:
2. There are no violent rape scenes in Part 2. In the original film a documentary film crew violently rape a native woman while laughing it up and recording the whole incident. Rape is a very terrible thing and I'm sure Part 1 director Ruggero Deodato was only trying to illustrate how truly awful it really is. Still, seeing this act portrayed on film could trigger a rape survivor, forcing them to relive to the whole trauma all over again. Part 2 does have a scene where lead actress Elvire Audray has here virginity forcibly taken with a corn cob (?!) or bamboo shoot or something but I feel this is less reprehensible than man on woman rape. 3. Less white guilt so I don't have to feel bad. In Part 1 you're seeing South American natives eating human flesh but the real monsters are the white documentarians who rape, kill and start fires for fun and to make a better documentary. In Part 2, heroine Catherine Miles tries to help a crippled native by beating his leg with a club then tying the leg to a piece of wood. The leg heals and the native once again can be a man. There is however a scene in Part 2 where white men shoot machine guns at natives from a helicopter then make racist comments while beheading them. It is a small subplot though. 4. Part 2 is a love story. The main theme of Part 2 is the love story between a native and Catherine Miles. He is the strongest of the tribe and also the best hunter and warrior. As such he could have his pick of any woman in the tribe. He feels true love for the fiesty and cantankerous white woman he kidnaps and spends most the film proving his love and doing whatever it takes to win her affection. She hates this man because she saw him decapitate the heads of her mother and father. After much difficulty they finally fall in love. And isn't love what life is all about? 5. It has a happy ending... sort of. (Spoilers) Part one is a found footage film. All of the main actors are only seen in recovered film after they are all dead. So their friends and fellow scholars recover the film cans and find out what scumbags they were. The End. Catherine Miles is found guilty of murder and spends many years in a mental institution. She gets out though and gets married and lives in a big city and has a kid. She is okay although pretty distant. The narrator says the native dude killed himself but I am wondering how he would have known that because the tribe is completely isolated from the outside the world. I decided narrator just made that up. To be fair Part 1 was better in ways so here is a second list: 1. Part 1 had a way better soundtrack. It so strange how arguably the most disturbing movie ever made could have the one of the most beautiful soundtracks I have ever heard. Riz Ortolani's Cannibal Holocaust theme is truly a masterpiece! 2. Part 1 made a lot of money. Part 1 grossed more in Japan in it's theatrical run than E.T. Big bucks all over the world. 3. Part 1 was a social commentary. I have heard that Part 1 was a commentary about the Italian Mondo films of the 60's and 70's. All great horror is a metaphor so I give props to the original in that regard. 4. Not a cannibal tribe in Part 2. The tribe that stars in Part 2 is a head hunting tribe and not a cannibal tribe. Kind of makes the title pointless. 5. Part 2 is not even a real sequel. Yes, Part 2 is a sequel in name only. I'm guessing the producers named it Cannibal Holocaust 2 to try and cash in on the notoriety or the original. Other movies have done the same thing as well. I still liked it better though. I have been so happy since ordering Full Moon Streaming to watch on my Roku! I have been watching movies I haven't seen since I was a kid plus movies I missed and didn't get a chance to see when they were first released. Every week Charles Band does a vidcast talking about what is going on at Full Moon. He announced a movie called Mega Scorpions was going to be released on the channel and showed a preview. I thought "Gee, could this be the lost J.R. Bookwalter movie from years ago? The one I wanted to see so bad I tried to get a bootleg copy from one of his friends? The one that was such a bad experience Mr Bookwalter decided to give up filmmaking?". Sure enough it was!
It's the story of a small town where a greedy corporation dumps toxic waste into a landfill causing scorpions to mutate into huge murderous monsters. After a teenage boy is killed by a scorpion a corrupt mayor tries to blame the local halfway house. The cast is filled with Tempe/Full Moon stars like Trent Haaga, Lilith Stabs, Ariauna Albright and Jeff Dylan Graham. Trent Haaga really shines as a schizophrenic recovering meth addict. Mega Scorpions is mega stupid but it's also mega entertaining, mega star studded and mega fun! Get Roku and subscribe to Full Moon Streaming today!! I ordered Full Moon Streaming last night and I couldn't be happier! There is tons of movies I haven't seen in years I want to revisit plus many I haven't seen at all.
The Evil Clergyman was the second film I watched on the channel. It is a 28 minute short movie that was made as part of an anthology film called Pulse Pounders back in 1987. The work print of the film was lost and the finished film was never released to the public. A VHS copy of the short films was discovered and remastered and released all these years later. The Evil Clergyman is an H.P. Lovecraft adaptation starring Jefferey Combs and Barbara Crampton. It tells the story of an lovely young woman who's priest secret lover has committed suicide. She returns to his apartment to make peace with her memories when she is visited by his ghost, another ghost and a demon. This movie is super awesome and a holy grail for the rare film geek. Combs is at his best doing what he is best known for (besides Poe now). Really spooky and twisted little movie! Full Moon Streaming is incredible and you should def get it if you are on Roku. I watched one of new Moonbeam kids movies and there were long pauses for loading but it is still worth it. First I went to the local live theater and had make up put on my by a pro makeup artist Corrine Vetger. She has done make up for a Mudvayne music video!
Nebula is a new science fiction film currently in development. The film has real science, a unique futuristic vision, contact with an alien race, and non-CGI special effects by artists from around the world. It will feature models and set design by top professionals in the industry. I know I am going to make a contribution and you can too here: http://igg.me/at/nebula/x/7626 I asked creator Jerry Lentz a few questions:
I like how this movie is going to be about real science. Do you think science could get this country out of the slump it's in? Thanks! I absolutely do! There are so many great science programs that don't get the funding, and once the few that do, the next administration cuts them off before any results can be seen in the economy. Science is not only great for an economy, it is great for Mankind! We must keep moving forward! We must evolve! We must spread out among the planets. We must protect this Earth from the extinction causing asteroid that will one day come. I always thought it was cheesy how in most sci fi the aliens basically are humanoid, with a head, arms and legs. Do you think aliens would really be shaped like humans? I do only in the sense that they would want to create a look that wouldn't frighten us. Those that don't care about us certainly will look more like bacteria or jellyfish. I imagine any alien contact with us will be through their biomechanical avatars and robots, though their robots will probably seem very lifelike, even appear sentient and autonomous. My biggest pet peeve in sci fi is when a movie is supposed to take place in the future and there is music I heard in high school on the soundtrack! What kind of score are you going to have for Nebula? Lol, yes! There is hopefully one song from the 1970's that will be the closing credit song, but I seriously doubt we are getting the rights. It was only going to be used as a punchline. I believe some of our crappiest music will be considered classics in the future, lol. I want an electronic score very much like "Forbidden Planet" and the work of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. However, I want it to be organic, if that makes any sense. How far into the future is this film set? Well, it is very far, and it spans millions of years. The main characters sleep for 1000s of years, wake up, do maintenance jobs, then sleep another 1000 years. Humans evolve, and devolve, and these sleep workers stay the same and are in constant danger of being replaced by the latest human form. They have to fight to stay relevant. Can donating a dollar to a crowd funding campaign really help? We're looking for $78,000, so if we get 78,000 people backing us with one dollar each, lol... That will help! I'm very excited by the contributors we now have being true genre fans and even big names in the field of special effects and science fiction. That seal of approval by people that create in the field of science fiction, science, NASA, Space X, and Astronomy feels so unimaginable!!! It makes me feel there is an audience of people like me whose pet peeves are sounds in space, lol Thanks so much! I am looking forward to this film!! Thank you so much for having here with your MORMO readers! Rented The Lords Of Salem from Redbox. Wow man this movie is intense! Totally awesome!! Horror high art masterpiece!! It's the story of a rock music DJ who gets a record in a wood box that makes her trip out and experience all kinds of satanic witchcraft stuff.
First thing is, Sheri Moon Zombie is a lovely woman. I got to meet her at Comic Con one year and yeah she is super beautiful and very nice. So I'm thinking her as a DJ with a sweet apartment walking her dog and stuff all ready made this a winning movie I could watch for a hour and a half. Second, I have a witch fetish. Witches saving the world, destroying the world, torturing, getting tortured, whatever then the scenario if it's about witches I am totally into it! Add to all this amazing psychedelic surreal satanic imagery. Not every scene worked but I consider this film experimental. Mr. Zombie is trying out new techniques in cinematography and story telling. One huge goof though is that Mrs. Zombie goes to NA and claims to be clean but in one scene she drinks wine. Alcohol is a drug, PERIOD!!! I can't see how this film got such bad word of mouth? Fuck the haters! I thought it was wonderful and can't recommend it enough! I hate myself for not making the drive to see this on the big screen but oh well. I will def watch it again! Made the trip to Boise to see Calabrese live at The Shedder in Boise. This was like my best decision ever because they rocked so hard and it was the most fun I've had all year!!! Calabrese is so horror punk legit, watching them on stage I felt like I was in a horror movie! They played a long set but I was pumped the whole time and was wishing it would never end! One thing I never knew about Calabrese is that they are all brothers which I think is totally cool. They had awesome merch and I bought a sweet poster that I had them all sign and also picked up a rad patch for my friend. Calabrese has a new album coming out October 1st and I will definitely check it out! Trinomikon opened for Calabrese and they were totally fun to watch as well. The upright bass player drew bleeding cuts on his face with marker which is super hardcore! I'm pretty much an old fart and when I go to concerts I pretty much want to stand in back but when this band was on I was really into it and the dance floor was wide open so I got right in front and did my movement/headbanging thing and it was a great time. I guess these guys haven't played in a while and have been together for a while but never recorded. I am going to see if I can help them out as I decided at the show I am going to focus on working in the Boise scene more from now on.
Best show ever!! Check these bands out!! |
