Writer-producer Ryan McGonagle announced today, his partnership with Brothers Rick and Danny Elfman, for home invasion thriller "Gambit's Game."
Danny Elfman, known for scoring numerous Tim Burton films, such as "Edward Scissorhands," and "Corpse Bride," will compose the opening theme. Rick, creator of indy cult favorite "Forbidden Zone" and member of 80s group, The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, takes the directing chair.

Rick explains, “Once I read Ryan's script I instantly knew it was something special. Ryan has such a unique voice in the way he tells his stories. Perfect blend of horror and suspense, 'Gambit's Game' will keep you guessing till the very end.”

Taking place through the week of Christmas, “Gambit's Game,” follows a team of ruthless home invaders and their surprise encounter with a lonely old widower.

“I've always wanted to make a Christmas movie set in Los Angeles. With the spirit of 'Bloody Bobby' happening on Halloween, we are adding this to our roster of holiday classics,” says writer-producer Ryan McGonagle.

McGonagle's grindhouse comedy “Bloody Bobby: The Fall Creek Valley Massacre,” currently in post-production, is added along with “Gambit's Game,” to a slate of many twisted tall tales, beginning in 2015.

The Monuments Men Review

5/29/2014

Got to catch this movie on the big screen at my local art guilds movie night. Felt weird to see a movie that plays out like a big budget indie quirky comedy in the middle of blockbuster season!

The Monuments Men tells the story of artists, art dealers and art historians who are drafted to recover important works of art stolen by the Nazi's in WW2. It has a great cast and beautiful locations but ultimately for me was a missed opportunity to tell an important story.

A problem for me was that most of the scenes in this film have a cutesie comedic tone. The movie is based off of real life war heros and I find it disrespectful to make light of such a serious situation. It didn't have to be a horrors of war melodrama but I would have liked to see more of the trials of middle aged non-soldiers dealing with combat.

Second, the pacing was very bad. Half the time I didn't even know what the team was trying to do and it seemed as if they were just farting around.

On the up side this movie did inspire me to get more involved with the art scene as most art guild movie nights do. Often through out the run time I was mentally planning on searching "How to be an art dealer" on youtube when I got home.

2 out of 5.

Austin Punk Movie Rock Opera

Rock Opera is a 1999 Austin Texas punk rock comedy thriller movie directed by Bob Ray. This movie is totally awesome!! It tells the story of Toe, a drug dealer in the band Pigpoke. He is trying to raise money selling pot to get his band to go on tour.

He gets weed fronted to him from a dude who is on house arrest for jacking off into a laundromat dryer.
Picture
He sells to all kinds of interesting people who I assume are players in the Austin punk scene. Things is they all are into a different drug and offer Toe a sample, for instance this guy who is dipping cigarettes in Robotussin.
Picture
The more of these custie drugs he tries the more he gets strung out! It seemed to me like he was making good money but I guess he wanted to be a higher roller so he goes over his suppliers head and contacts his suppliers supplier. Now he's moving even more weed but the new guys is a crazy violent redneck. Shit gets serious dealing with this dude and the movie starts to get pretty intense at this point!

Like I said before, this movie is super awesome! It has great music, great acting and a good story. If you are a punk rocker it is basically your duty to make a movie like this documenting your scene. Seriously, every punk scene should have a movie like this. I can't recommend this highly enough! You can purchase it here or get the DVD from Netflix.

Adam & Eve: Italian Exploitation Style

I believe the title of this translates to "Adam And Eve: The First Love Story". I found it while researching Cannibal Holocaust sequels on Youtube. As you can imagine the story of this is a little different then the biblical version. I'm going to go ahead and do spoilers as I am assuming you are not as hardcore as me and don't actually want to watch this movie. If you would rather watch it (it's free) click here.

In exchange for you offering a tiny bit of financial assistance you can get great perks! Personally, I chose to have a ship, robot, planet, astronaut or alien named "Mormozine". How cool is that.

A Bulldog For Christmas Review

I made the smart decision this year to invest a little money in this movie and I am so glad I did! I've wanted to be a filmmaker my whole life so it was such a great experience to be a part of the filmmaking process of this film. My small contribution got me a digital copy sent to my email and I got to see this movie before most people got to. Henrique Couto is a wonderful filmmaker and I strongly suggest investing in his upcoming film Awkward Thanksgiving!

The movie itself is about an angry young counter culture woman visiting her family for Christmas. She has an awful attitude and is about to ruin Christmas for everyone when she is magically turned into a bulldog and learns the true meaning of Christmas. It is a wonderful movie the whole family can enjoy and is sure to become a Christmas classic! There is such a big demand for Christmas programming I'm sure this movie will be all over TV next Christmas! Then everyone all over the country will see my name in the credits LOL!!!

Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire Review

Went to the casino and saw Hunger Games 2. I liked it a lot, I would say equal to the first one. It was really long but I actually wish it would have been an hour longer. It really should have been split into two movies.

Too many plot points were not fleshed out. In typical Hollywood style the love story and the violence are the most  highlighted points of the story when the real meat of the story is the politics which is mostly glossed over.

In the horror biz TV is what's hot right now and I can't help but wonder what could have been if Hunger Games series was turned into a TV show. I like the movies but I just am left with so many questions and there is so much that is not covered and explored.
