The plot is kind of standard and I've seen Full Moon use this device before. The story is good though and I was held in suspense as to what was going to happen next. What really makes this movie excel is the fine cast. At first I was disappointed because based off the cover I thought Phil Fondacaro was going to have a lead role. I quickly got over my disappointment because midget actor Nathan Philips does a fine acting job. Masuimi Max is an incredible asset to Full Moon with her stunning good looks, acting talent and fun personality. Jeryl Prescott Sales of Walking Dead puts in a terrific performance as the mean Tyra Banks style diva in charge. The rest of the cast is full of semi-famous actors who all excel. Kudos to director Charles Band for his skilled directing of the cast however some scenes I felt were too dark.
Included on the DVD is a wonderful Videozone like back in the day showing interviews, bloopers, behind the scenes and some Full Moon news. Kicking off the DVD is an announcement about the future of Full Moon. Very good news but it left me with two important questions. Will Full Moon's streaming service be available on Roku and will there be an affiliate program? There is over 5 million people using Roku now and other film companies such as Something Weird have a subscription based channel. I spend many hours in front of the computer, when I enjoy a movie I want it on a big screen and relaxing on the couch! Troma is streaming their catalog for free but I have barely watched any of them for this reason.
So definitely check out Unlucky Charms! I'm tempted to call it one of Full Moon's better films but really all of their new releases have been top notch lately!
