Thailand Ghost Horror Movie "The Coffin" Youtube Review

The Coffin is a Thailand horror ghost movie you can watch for free on Youtube. It starts off with a news clip talking about the new fad, a Buddhist ritual where people lay down in a coffin and have a funeral ceremony performed over them. The purpose being to remove bad karma and allow the participant to cheat death. Coming soon is the biggest ritual of living funerals in history, so big it makes the Guinness Book Of Records!

Two of the people who partake in this ceremony become our stories hero's. One is a young man who writes the name of his girlfriend who is in a coma on a piece of paper, hoping to revive her. The other is a young woman about to be married but who has cancer and wishes to cure it.

Both of the folks soon after the ritual befall a terrible tragedy, but survive. However they are both now haunted by ghosts!

This is a really neat movie I enjoyed for a lot of reasons. For one it is always interesting to see what is scary to a different country. On top of this it is a story of a exotic religion Buddhism. 

Towards the end it reminded me of movie that had a big impact on me when I was young, Chinese Ghost Story by Tsui Hark. I bought Chinese Ghost Story out of a bootleg catalog I ordered out out of the back of a Fangoria magazine. It also was a spooky haunting story with a touching love and romance angle. 

The movie has no nudity, although there are several lovely Asian beauties. Some blood and gore but not a whole lot. This movie effected me though on a deep level. I contemplated death and how unfair it can be while watching. A couple of scenes I was pretty scared.
