Zinester Stu Stratu found a review I did of his zine online and sent me this new issue directly from Australia! Grunted Warning is a true crime zine filled with bizarre news clippings from all over the world. Issue 19 is the Japan Watch Special.
Apparently Japan has a very bad train groper problem! There are several strange stories about gropings on trains including an article about what to do if you are falsely accused of committing train groping. Also included is the sad story of a manga artist who committed suicide.
I love this zine because it is very interesting but I also find it challenging. When I was younger I loved true crime and even collected and traded serial killer cards with a friend. Now that I am older and more sensitive (and mentally ill!!!) true crime really gets under my skin and makes me feel all weird. Even cheesy shows like the Dateline murder mysteries freak me out. So huge props to Grunted Warning for pushing my buttons and making remember what a sick sad world we all live in!
