The local art guild has an art movie screening at the theater every last Thursday. I been a fan of Bill Plympton since I was kid seeing his shorts at The Festival Of Animation and The Tune when it came out on video. I respect the guy a lot because I think it's incredible that one guy could make a feature length film mostly by himself. It was inspiring to hear the story of a successful film maker and artist outside of the Hollywood system. This movie didn't hold out on the secret sauce either, giving solid details about how he became a success. The movie did have problems though. Having seen Mr Plympton's films on the big screen I know they should have looked a lot better then the clips I saw in this documentary. There may have been a problem in the transfer but the quality of the clips was poor. Also many of the cameos didn't make sense or weren't funny, even my Hollywood crush Martha Plimpton. Still the film is def worth watching. I'd even like to watch it again and take notes about the secret sauce!
