Saw The Twitching Fingers in Anaheim at the Hungover Sunday show. I wish I would have bought some food at this show because the flier said the bar had a full kitchen. TTF are pretty new and kinda rough but I think they have a lot of potential! They have a pop punk sound that I think could really catch on! Please like their Facebook page because they don't have many fans yet and could use the support.

Picked up the new Skittish Itz album, Had A Food Baby!, from the 1332 Records website. Listened to it twice and really enjoyed it! It's kind of a melodic pop punk with heavy metal guitar and a little ska thrown in. The vocals are great because they are sung, not screamed, and I could understand the clever lyrics. They kind of remind me of Yer Mom in this regard. I definitely need to see these guys live! Not sure if they have a music video but I found my favorite song off the album here: More super weird newspaper clippings from all over the world. There is some very strange stuff from Japan in this issue! There was one Japanese guy who would slash tires at the supermarket just so he could strike up a conversation and exchange numbers with the woman while he fixed her tire. I like this issue a lot because the woman on the cover looks like a girl I dated. These are really fun to read so pick up an issue!
Send a dollar or a weird newspaper clipping to: Stratu PO Box 35 Marrickville NSW 2204 AUSTRALIA Another zine from the creator of Rig-it & Relocate. I just can't get over how cool this design is! A full on zine using only one sheet of paper! I need to learn how to make these!! My friend Sid Clark says the author is going by the name Clell Miller but I still don't have an address for these. This issue is a short fiction (I hope!) about a down on his luck ex-con and his troubles. Pretty awesome I wish I had a whole stack of these zines to read every day!
Update! You can request copies of this and other zines by emailing jefffostermixtape@gmail.com Just rented Shifter, the Moonbeam movie that just came out on Redbox. Like all of Moonbeam's movies, this movie makes up in creativity what it lacks in budget. It's the story of a young boy (who looks like a grown man) who's parents are spies. The boy/man is tired of always having to move and use a fake identity so he is stoked when the parents retire and he gets to have a normal life. Problem is his parents get kidnapped and it's up to him to use all their spy gadgets and magic powers to track them down.
I don't want to give too much away but this movie is packed to the gills with strange/interesting stuff. It's got gypsies, spies, magic, a moped, animals, a rock concert, midgets, time travel, an evil witch and much much more! Perfect entertainment for an imaginative child and adults as well. Check this out!! Moonbeam on Facebook As I was entering The Other Place bar in Anaheim there was a dude with a checklist asking what band we came to see. I liked this bands name so much I said them. For those of you who don't know I am pretty sure the name refers to Dr. Bob who was the co-founder a AA. As you can see in the video they have a very odd set up where the drummer was set up facing backwards on the dance floor. It mixed things up and worked out pretty well because the lead singer was very animated on stage and moved around a lot. These guys are very cool and I hope I get to see them again!
Dr. Bob's Nightmare on Facebook Watched this movie on Drive-In Channel on Roku. The first time I watched it I got too scared and turned it off about twenty minutes in. It's pretty intense! It's about a mentally ill man who loses his job then goes to church naked and gets sent to a mental asylum. He gets out and is cared for by his brother who lets him live in an abandoned hotel. All kinds of crazy crap happens and your left wondering if it is hallucinations or reality. Quick flashes of gore in the beginning and a big bloody finale. Very creepy movie, check it out!
